On the 8th of March, Francis Ngannou will square off against Anthony Joshua in only his second professional boxing match. Provided the performance the former UFC fighter displayed against Tyson Fury last year, several people from the boxing world believe Ngannou will probably put ‘AJ’ in a fix. However, in a bold statement, Ben Davidson, the current trainer of Joshua, declared that Ngannou would not go the distance of 10 rounds against the British boxer.

On the other hand, team Ngannou is confident of The Predator’s abilities as a fighter. While Ngannou hopes to catch ‘AJ’, the Cameroonian’s trainer fears for Joshua. Meanwhile, Joshua hopes that a victory against Francis would “lead” him to face the winner of Tyson Fury vs. Oleksandr Usyk.

In his latest interview with BBC Sport, having branded himself as “the underground king,” Francis Ngannou claimed he would knock out Anthony Joshua provided he caught ‘AJ’ with a “straight [and] clean shot“. On the other hand, speaking to Sky Sports, Ngannou’s trainer, Dewey Cooper claimed Joshua should be “worried” as Francis was bringing his A-game on March 8th. However, Joshua’s trainer, Ben Davidson, felt otherwise. He was confident of ‘AJ’ winning.

I’m convinced it won’t go after two rounds the way AJ is gonna approach the fight,” Ben Davidson told The DAZN Boxing Show. “Again, it’s not because he’s not been physically able to do the round. The approach AJ is gonna take and the lack of experience that Ngannou’s had… I do see him struggling to do the 10 rounds the way AJ’s going to approach the fight,” Davidson emphasized.

In this context, it is worth mentioning that Joshua also claimed he would devote his all to winning against Francis Ngannou in Kingdom Arena, Riyadh.
