Former WSF President Laila Ali Relives the Day She Joined Jalen Hurts to Promote Women’s Sports at Local High School With Philadelphia Eagles

Muhammad Ali‘s daughter, Laila Ali, doesn’t hold back in following the footsteps of her father in giving back to the community. Besides being one of the greatest female boxing World Champions, Ali tries to contribute to social work as much as possible. To ensure her better involvement, she recently joined an organization, Women Sports Foundation. She also served as its President from 2011-2012. Well, she shared one of the crucial moments she spent at the Philadelphia local High School.

Muhammad Ali was one of the biggest cultural figures in the history of America. He believed in the service of others more than oneself. So, it’s not surprising to see Laila Ali doing a similar thing, and following in her father’s footsteps, in spite of reiterating her father’s mistakes publicly. Anyway, she recently remembered the memorable day with the young female athletes.

Laila Ali shares the day spent with high school young female football players

A few weeks ago, the Women’s Sports Foundation, along with the Philadelphia Eagles quarterback, Jalen Hurts, the former WSF President, Laila Ali, and the soccer champion, Carli Lloyd, visited the Northeast High School in Philadelphia. She reminisced about the moment on her Instagram Story.

At the event, all three of them addressed the high school female athletes. They also distributed around 30,000 specially designed, FLY: FWD sports bras. This was to get every young athlete to stay motivated towards their goals, and work hard to achieve them. Having iconic figures of women’s sports in front of them must have been a great experience for all the aspiring players.

This event was one of the biggest events organized in favor of women’s sports in recent times. And it’s no doubt that Laila Ali was such a big part of it. Since she carried forward the organization herself, almost 11 years ago.

The time when ‘She Bee Stingin’ took the responsibility of being the WSF President

So back in 2012, the Women’s Sports Foundation announced publicly, that Laila Ali has been announced to be the next elected President of the organization. This was trumpeted throughout the media, around the time when she became a mother for the second time in her life.

At that time, Ali stated, “I’m thrilled to serve as president of the Women’s Sports Foundation, and help girls and women from all walks of life understand the important role of sports and getting active.” She also mentioned being thrilled about this opportunity, because as a female athlete, she understands the intricacies of this field. She also tried to navigate the ways of WSF accordingly moving forward.
