All efforts made by Jake Paul for his highly anticipated return inside the ring went in vain after his opponent Hasim Rahman Jr could not make the 200-pound weight limit. This eventually led to the cancellation of the August 6 showdown in Madison Square Garden, New York. However, there are many names from combat sports popping up to fill the vacant space on short notice. One of them is a former world champion, Keith Thurman.

The social media star had replaced Tommy Fury with Rahman Jr. and was excited to face an established boxer for the first time in his career. His victory over Rahman Jr. could have opened the gate to several opportunities as the WBC had announced to rank him at cruiserweight.

Now, Paul is left with two options. Either take a shot against fighters who wanted to clash with him even on short notice, or move on to find another opportunity with a genuine opponent in the coming months.
