In an interview, De La Hoya admitted he was the one in the pictures and revealed being drunk. This speculation of him being gay has lasted ever since.

Recently, his former rival weighed in on this speculation. In an interview, he revealed that he has known the former champion and does not think he is gay. He stated, “I’ve known Oscar since he was 6 years old. He ain’t that way. He’s been with different kinds of women. He loves women. He ain’t gay, he just doing some weird sh*t. I’ve never seen him with a guy, no gay guy in the back”

In the same interview, he mentioned how people make incorrect assumptions and doubles down on his claim that he is a straight male with conviction. He added, “People can see certain things and think certain things. I have known him since he was little, the whole family.”
