Jake Paul is making waves both outside and inside the squared circle. The American boxer has left his imprint on the boxing world since making his debut in 2020, and his career has reached a zenith with a pro win over Mike Tyson. All within 4 years. Was it all part of an elaborate plan? Freeway Ricky Ross certainly believes so.
Paul, 27, is one of the most marketable faces currently who has mastered the art of selling fights. His antics, such as wearing a body suit and asking fighters to bet on his fight result, are all examples of him trying to create a buzz. It’s no wonder that Netflix shattered many records when he took on ‘Iron Mike’ and over 65 million households tuned in to watch it. What’s more? ‘Problem Child’s two biggest brands, his promotion, MVP, and his deodorant brand ‘W’ were at the center of everything. All resulting in massive visibility and payouts.
Rick Ross, who ran a massive drug empire in LA in the early 1980s, explained the situation as he recalled an encounter with the Cleveland native’s original manager. Ross also heaped praise on the fighter, as he believed he had become a complete boxer.

Ross explained to VladTV, “Jake has developed himself into being a real boxer, you know. I had met with his original manager about a year and a half ago up in Beverly Hills, you know. He throw those big mansion parties, and he was telling me how him and Jake got started in boxing, you know. They had to turn that notoriety into some cash. And he came up with the idea that boxing would be the way to go.”
Interestingly, the Celebrity NetWorth puts Paul’s net worth at $100 million, including his $40 million payout from the last fight. Notably, Forbes had put him in the 12th slot on the Top Creators 2024 list and had posted his earnings at $13.6 million before the Tyson fight. What’s more?

The 11-1 record holder’s most profitable year inside boxing was 2021 when he bagged $40 million for his three fights. He has only increased his face and brand value with time and slowly cemented himself into a proven PPV star, too. The true testament came in Paul’s fight with ‘Iron Mike,’ which, according to Ross, 64, was a win-win situation for everyone.
Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson: opening new doors for ‘Problem Child’
The American author explained the fight as a win for the fans and every stakeholder involved. He declared, “The fans got what they wanted. They got to see Mike one more time, and hopefully, that was his last time, you know. I think everybody won, like you said. It was a win-win situation.”

With his last fight, Paul is again at the center of the boxing world and has received many orders from the world champions now. The likes of Daniel Dubois and Artur Beterbiev want a piece of him, and if he fights marches on a similar road, he could collect an even heftier paycheck. That’s not it. With MVP, he has a bunch of exciting, talented fighters too, whom he could groom to stardom. Who will Paul fight next? While he has Canelo Alvarez on his mind, the Mexican champion might be out of his reach for now.
