At the age of 76, Scottish journalist and former amateur boxing champion Frank Gilfeather made a praiseworthy ‘comeback’ to boxing by imparting his knowledge to 50,000 followers on the platform called TikTok. Gilfeather, a famous journalist, is known for his contribution to the Evening Express and the Press & Journal. With the launch of the Grampian Television news program called North Tonight, Gilfeather launched his broadcasting career in 1980. In North Tonight, Gilfeather worked as a reputed sports correspondent at the time.

At the age of 76, Gilfeather is giving boxing lessons on TikTok to hundreds and thousands of his fans. In fact, his latest video has over 1.4 million views. So far, he has 50,000 followers on TikTok and counting. According to Gilfeather, this is nothing short of a ‘comeback’ at 76.

Frank Gilfeather said, “You could call it a comeback, I suppose. The feedback from boxing fans across the world who are hungry to improve their technique is staggering. I have daily contact with fight fans and boxers from as far as Australia, Brazil, the US, and South Africa, as well as from across the UK and Europe.”

Speaking of boxing, Gilfeather spoke about his fandom and the boxing club his father ran when he was still a kid.

Gilfeather, 76, loves the platform TikTok where he has 50,000 followers now. He first boxed when he was seven. Dundee, the city he hailed from, held boxing in high regard. It even produced the 1956 Olympic gold medalist McTaggart. When Gilfeather was still a kid, his father ran a boxing club.

He said, “My dad ran a boxing club and my two older brothers, Dan and Dennis, were champions, and while my debut was an exhibition bout in 1952 when the Queen had ascended the throne and Rocky Marciano was the heavyweight champion of the world.”

In his words, Gilfeather always enjoyed being in touch with an ambiance full of crowd, excitement, and thrill. A loyal fan of the sport, Gilfeather says he loves boxing. Over the years, Gilfeather has studied the sport so well that several times boxers asked him for guidance and coaching.

Gilfeather added by saying, “I love the sport and if my instructions help anyone then that pleases me.”
