Andy Ruiz Jr. is currently one of the most popular heavyweights in the sport. Moreover, the ‘Destroyer’ is set to make a comeback after a year-long hiatus. Ruiz recently spoke about his experiences on the Joe Rogan Experience and the Jimmy Kimmel show.

Ruiz was in an interview with ES News. And, he was talking about his previous fights and his preparations for his future bout. Meanwhile, in conversation, the interviewer asked him about his time at Rogan’s podcast and Kimmel’s show. He asked, “What was a crazier experience, Joe Rogan or Jimmy Kimmel?”
In response, Ruiz said, “Yeah, that’s a good one. I think both.”

However, the interviewer asked him to pick the one that was most memorable for him. Ruiz responded, saying, “I don’t know. Probably, Jimmy Kimmel, because everything happens so fast, Guillermo was right there. I’ve seen them since I was a little kid, you know. And, especially they showed the little picture of the tequila bottles, I was like, ‘what were you thinking right here when you were this age.'”
Additionally, he also mentioned that he loved the gift basket that Kimmel gave him on the show. Ruiz also added that his appearance on the show happened at a time when he was fresh out of a victory.

Andy Ruiz was last seen in the ring on May 1, 2021. He showcased a stellar performance against Chris Arreola at the Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, California, scoring a victory by decision.

However, the former champ took a yearlong hiatus after his fight against Arreola. It was later reported that Ruiz will fight Luis Ortiz. In fact, Ruiz also went on to drop weight and secure a battle-ready physique ahead of the bout.
Ruiz will face Ortiz at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, California on September 4, 2022.
