Former Commonwealth super middleweight title holder Rocky Fielding has called it quits after a long career. The British boxer recently took to social media and announce his retirement from boxing at the age of 35.
Fielding won the Commonwealth championship back in 2013 and even made two title defenses. Moreover, he had a career record of 30-3 with his only losses coming in title bouts. Although Fielding, was never a highly elite boxer he surpassed expectations and even won a title in the process.

The British boxer wrote a heartfelt post on social media recalling his epic journey and claimed that it was now time for him to hang up his gloves. “What a journey. Thank you to Boxing for all the memories. Thank you to everyone for the support and everyone that’s been apart of it.” he wrote

Fielding’s biggest career moment came when he faced Canelo Alvarez in Madison Square Garden. However, he was swiftly dismissed by the Mexican in the third round. Despite this, Fielding’s career was one where he certainly surpassed every expectation. In addition, the fans also came out and wished him the best of luck in his future endeavors.

The fans were heartbroken at this news but were still very grateful for everything Fielding has done. Although he might not be the best in-ring technician in boxing, he certainly proved that he was capable of being a world champion. And even fought one of the greatest boxers in this era and in the Mecca of boxing.

Now, the British boxer is ready to start a new chapter in his life and live life outside the sport of boxing. Moreover, he still is in good shape and not retiring due to any injury but rather his own will.
