Sugar Ray Leonard, George Foreman, and Mike Tyson were the faces of boxing a few decades ago. The trio were the best pound-for-pound fighters around the same time. However, they never competed against one another. Leonard was simply at a smaller weight class than the two, but even the heavyweights did not fight one another. At the time, the heavyweight division had ample talent, and contrary to the current landscape, the boxers back then did not shy away from fighting the most formidable opponents.
Tyson and Foreman never fought one another. This left a substantial section of the boxing world very displeased. In addition, the fans and boxing pundits continued to speculate who would have won if the two had met in the ring. This was evident after a long-forgotten photo of the two resurfaced on the internet, of which Leonard was also a part. So, without further ado, let’s take a look at their forgotten image and unwrap some fan reactions.

Their resurfaced image ignited distinct opinions. On one hand, the fans debated a fantasy matchup between Tyson and Foreman. Some fans were simply awestruck to see three legends of the sport in one frame. The picture was posted by Boxing History on Facebook in which the three appear to have their arms around one another’s shoulders and are posing for the camera.
Here are a few intriguing fan reactions:
One fan noticed Tyson was smiling and was glad to see it. In addition, he was also awestruck to see three legends embracing each other. He stated, “Three all-time greats. Nice to see Tyson smile.”
On similar lines, another fan had nothing but kind words to say. According to him, their legacy is etched in stone. He stated, “Great champions and will be remembered forever.”
However, a fan noticed that the oldest heavyweight champion of the world was significantly bigger than the youngest heavyweight champion of the world. Reflecting on the same, he wondered if that would have played a factor in their potential bout. He wrote, “Big George is a lot bigger than Tyson. How’s that Gonna go??!!”
One fan had a decisive prediction up their sleeve for this hypothetical bout. According to him, given their styles, Foreman would have gotten the better of ‘Iron Mike.’ He said, “Bad style for Tyson, IMO. Foreman would chop him up.”
Another fan had a concurring opinion. According to them, Foreman would have handed Tyson a defeat. They remarked, “Prime Foreman knocks out prime Tyson.”
