Boxing is not just a display of physical strength. The sport juxtaposes the fighter’s mental strength as they slog for long hours in the gym before stepping foot in the ring. Every professional boxer goes through an emotional rollercoaster throughout their career. But, this side of mental health is not restricted to the sport. But, rather many celebrities have opened up about their struggles with mental health. And they take some time to reinvigorate themselves to return to doing what they love. But, it seems such programs are not reigning undisputed light-middleweight champion, Claressa Shieldscup of tea.

The ‘GWOAT’ recently took to her social media to show her disapproval of the stunning costs of many programs which guarantee to improve the mental health of the person who enrolls in them.

The champ took to her Twitter and opened up about programs dedicated to people suffering from mental health issues. She talked about the costs of these expensive programs and pointed out the massive charges these programs incur just to “unlock your brain.”

Shields wrote, “It’s a program for celebrities to go to for 3 weeks for like therapy or trauma. To help you unlock your brain, cost 60,000$.”

She added,” baby for that much my brain can stay locked.”

It seems like Shields will not be the one paying $60,000 to therapize herself.

However, it should be noted that Shields is an advocate of mental health. And likes to speak up on issues she thoroughly believes in.

The ‘GWOAT’ prioritizes her mental health

Even though Shields has accolades to her name that many dream of achieving. The journey has not been easy for the champion. In an interview with Sports Illustrated, she opened up about the opponents she had to face outside of the ring. And how she manages to emerge victorious every day. From dealing with her personal trauma to fighting her demons, Shields is an inspiration for many young girls out there.
