There is no denying that the WBA Continental welterweight titleholder, Conor Benn, has been long eyeing a showdown with the former IBO super-middleweight and WBA interim middleweight champion, Chris Eubank Jr. The duo was scheduled to fight each other on October 8, 2022. However, the fight had to be canceled after Benn tested positive for PED usage. Meanwhile, Eubank Jr recently faced Liam Smith at the AO Arena in Manchester. And Benn had a few choice words to say about the fight’s result.

Benn and Eubank were supposed to face each for a 157 lbs. showdown at the O2 Arena in London. But Benn’s failed test barely days before the fight jeopardized the entire event.

On the other hand, Eubank Jr suffered a 4th-round TKO in his recent fight. Benn, in turn, was amused by the outcome of the fight.

He took to Instagram, to share a video of himself watching the fight with his father, and former champ, Nigel Benn. In the video shared by Michael Benson, Conor Benn wasted no time in mocking Eubank Jr, by saying, “What are you saying? It wouldn’t have gone past two, would it?” Additionally, he even tweeted a similar statement to take an extra dig at Eubank Jr.

It is also worth mentioning that this beef was, in fact, reminiscent of the rivalry that their illustrious fathers had in their heyday.

It is safe to say that boxing aficionados were not too amused by the statements by Benn. In fact, a lot of fans took to social media to share their thoughts on the same.

A few fans were quick to point out Benn’s failed drug tests.

Meanwhile, some fans were shocked at Benn’s ‘audacity’ after he resorted to ‘cheating’. Moreover, a user even mentioned that the loss is honorable as Eubank Jr. fights clean.

In the same vein, some fans called him out for taking a dig at Eubank Jr’s loss. And even mentioned that doing so is his ‘lowest point as an athlete’. In fact, a user did not even mince words while calling him a ‘disgrace’.

Conversely, a user had a rather radical approach to the entire fiasco. He took time to remind Benn that Eubank’s loss is certain to affect him negatively. And that Benn will not be able to able to get the big payday that he is hoping for.

However, some users came in support of Benn. Moreover, they mentioned that he had a better chance of beating Eubank Jr.
