Floyd Mayweather is currently sheltering some of the biggest boxing names in his promotions, with WBA Interim lightweight champion Rolando Romero clearly on the list. However, ‘Rolly’ appears vexed by how he is being treated by the entire boxing fraternity. The undefeated lightweight star is mandatory to a world championship shot right now. But he seems far from bagging it in real.

Although he was scheduled to meet Gervonta Davis for the WBA 135 lbs belt, he was taken away after being charged with some serious legal allegations. Isaac Cruz slide in and replaced him, but Davis beat ‘Pitbull’ to keep his championship.

While it validates Romero to have his chance next, the same may not happen. The lightweight division is pretty stacked right now and has many A-listers lurking over the title shot. While there are more marketable fighters than Romero onboard, ‘Rolly’ may not have his hands on the belt soon.

He expressed his anger on social media and wrote, “I might just quit boxing for real. This sport is all bullshit. They just never wanted to see Rolly succeed, and that’s the truth.”

Romero’s professional record stands at 14-0 with 12 KO wins. Besides, he has the Interim belt to tout and is in a lucrative position to advance his career. He is the most viable contender for Gervonta Davis’ 135 lbs belt. However, ‘Tank’ can shift divisions and, after a win over Cruz, he can go into a brief hiatus. It will either urge Romero to defend his mandatory sport or wait and see when he receives the title shot.
