In recent times, it has been a trend for athletes to catalyze their fame in order to commence their own brands. Conor McGregor, Dana White, and Logan Paul, amongst many others, have their own beverage companies from which they earn substantial revenue. Floyd Mayweather continues to lead the trend but there is an interesting catch to it. He has launched a line of products which he himself has refrained from in the past.
‘Money’ remains in top shape and continues to compete with boxers half his age in exhibitions. One of the major reasons he has been able to do so is because of a strict and healthy lifestyle. He does not indulge in drinking alcohol or consuming drugs and looks after his body. He has been very vocal about the same and once explained his reason for abstaining from alcohol. He stated, “It’s just that you know, I just seen just so many different substances break everybody down, break so many blacks down. Subsequently, Mayweather did not shy away from putting on his entrepreneurial hat. However, what is surprising is the fact that he chose to get into the liquor business.
Despite not drinking alcohol, Mayweather took to his Instagram and made an announcement of starting his own champagne line to his 29 Million fans. In the video, he stated, “To feel good, look good and drink good. My new champagne line is dropping, “Le Bon Argent,” that mean good money. I want the whole world to drink rich. We about to drop this summer.” Thereafter, he makes a request to clubs all around the world to purchase his new champagne. He added, “All the clubs around the world, I don’t care where you at, go purchase it. The good money, “Le Bon Argent.” Money May and ya know the rest. Go get it.”
