The wait is almost over. Fans can now almost ‘touch’ the Floyd Mayweather vs. Mikuru Asakua fight. After the New Year fight in December 2018 against Tenshin Nasukawa, the 50-0 and retired Mayweather is all set to return to and grace the Super Saitama ring. Although 45, Mayweather will take on a 30-year-old Mikuru Asakura from Rizin. Even though ‘TBE’ will enter the fight as a retired and former pro boxer in the ring, he will overshadow Asakura in various respects walking in.

His star power and resume are such that even though Asakura is in his prime, it is Mayweather whose name is selling the fight. According to Mayweather, he is always in control, and in this fight, he will dictate the role of a “puppet master” pulling the strings. In a recent interview, ‘Money’ claimed that it was all up to him if Asakura managed to land “one punch” on him in the ring.

He said, “Oh, we’re gonna treat him nice. We’re gonna let him go three rounds. We’re gonna let him try to land a shot. [I] May not let him land one punch. It’s all up to me. It’s all on what I wanna do, remember. I’m the puppet master. I’m always in control, no matter what.”

Mayweather has reiterated over and over again that he is in full control of the fight. According to his statements, the bouts would only take place if they were organized maintaining conditions given by him. Recently, he called himself the boss and said that he was on the A-side.

He had said, “… I put in my hard work to be the boss, to make you guys do what I want you to do. Now once again, September 25th, you’re gonna have to do what I want you to do. “

The last time Mayweather had an opponent in Japan, he had almost toyed with him. The fight with Nasukawa lasted for a little more than two minutes before ‘Money’ knocked him out. This time Mayweather has vouched to fight for a longer time than he did in 2018.
