You fought a lot of great fighters, tested yourself, went up numerous weight classes like myself and other fighters throughout the years,” Floyd Mayweather said.

While branding Alvarez a great fighter, Mayweather took the pain to remind the boxing world that he was 36 when he fought a 23-year-old Canelo Alvarez in the ring. “Everyone is now saying that he is not the same fighter. Remember this, I was older than Canelo is [now] when I beat Canelo. Now imagine me at 36 and Canelo at 36, and we fight,” ‘TBE’ added.

When Alvarez faced ‘Money’, the former had a record of 1 draw and 42 wins. Hence, Mayweather declared, “Everybody is saying that Canelo is slowing down. But remember, when I was 36 years old, I was fighting a guy who was 23 with 43 fights.” Following Alvarez’s defeat to Mayweather, a number of people including Eddie Hearn claimed that Alvarez lacked experience. To that, Mayweather now said, “When I was 23 if I had 43 fights, I would have been a monster“.
