Boxing legend Floyd Mayweather is one of the select few boxers who have made their mark on the business aspect of the sport. Moreover, Mayweather promotions currently have a roster filled with rising stars that could prove to be the future of boxing. Despite this, WBA regular lightweight champion Gervonta Davis recently parted ways with ‘Money’ and is now an independent promoter.

However, their relationship would start to deteriorate as time went on with ‘Tank’ becoming dissatisfied as he was not pitted against high-level opponents. Back in 2006, Mayweather decided to part ways with Bob Arum’s TopRank. However, he had to give up $750,000 to break free from his contract which was a lot at the time. Mayweather would get the better of this deal by a long shot as he made $8 million in his next fight. Moreover, he would then get the biggest paycheck of his career to that point after he faced Oscar De La Hoya with a reported purse of $25 million.
