Floyd Mayweather has jumped onto the NFT hype train. The unbeaten former 4 division world champion took to his Twitter to show his support to BXMI NFT. Mayweather is currently in Dubai, along with a lot of other boxers and celebrities.

While in Dubai, Mayweather teased new fights, events, and businesses. In his latest video, Mayweather promoted an NFT marketplace and gave one user a replica of his WBC belt.

What is an NFT? 

NFT stands for Non-fungible tokens. NFTs have been around since 2014. However, in the past two years, the NFT market has blown up with the rise of Cryptocurrency. In simple terms, an NFT is a digital asset that represents real-world objects like art, music, in-game items, and videos. People can buy and sell NFTs strictly online.

Users usually buy and sell NFTs with cryptocurrency, and are mainly part of the Ethereum blockchain. This means users do most of the transactions for the NFTs via the Ethereum network. Although other blockchains support them as well.

What is BXMI NFT? 

BXMI NFT is a marketplace that claims to be the world’s first exclusive blockchain-based marketplace to sell creatives, diamonds, and gold. Another interesting thing to note is that the BXMI NFT marketplace also claims to have a 0% transaction fee.

This means users can buy and sell without giving the BXMI NFT marketplace any fee.

Does Floyd Mayweather own any NFTs? 

Floyd Mayweather recently joined the Bored Bunny NFT. In a tweet, Bored Bunny NFT revealed, “WELCOME TO THE GOAT! @FloydMayweather. He just joined Bored Bunny. The Biggest Fighter of all time is now with us! A BIG WELCOME TO HIM! RT too show how engaged we are.”

Floyd is also currently working on his own line of NFTs. His current Twitter profile picture is one of his NFTs.

This new wave of cryptocurrency and NFTs have taken over the world and it seems like all the celebrities and athletes are also getting into it.
