Gervonta Davis is one of the best boxers in the world. Even though he worked hard to become the fighter he is today, he was considered a boxing prodigy from a young age. But, he wouldn’t have been able to become the personality he is without the help of exceptionally talented people around him. It is safe to say that Floyd Mayweather Jr. played a pivotal role in shaping the Baltimore hard-hitter into becoming who he is today.

But not all good stories end happily after spending some crucial years together. Davis decided to part ways with the promotions and go on his own path. This separation was the genesis of numerous rumors about the relationship between Mayweather Jr. and Davis. But, recently, ‘Money’ Mayweather shared a series of photos on Instagram with none other than Gervonta Davis appearing in one of them.

The recent David Benavidez vs Caleb Plant fight witnessed the presence of both Mayweather Jr. and Gervonta Davis. Even though the fans were expecting the duo to ignore each other, Davis and Mayweather interacted with each other at the event and even sat together for a particular fight.

But if this interaction was not enough to clear the rumors about the relationship between the two, ‘Money’ Mayweather took to Instagram to share photos from the main event. And in one of the photos, Davis can be seen walking alongside the former five-division world champion. It is safe to say that this picture squashes all the rumors about the presence of any animosity between the two.

Gervonta Davis made his debut in 2013 and he joined hands with Mayweather promotions in 2015. Since then ‘Tank’ Davis was shaped to become the face of boxing. And, undoubtedly, the best in sports. But, as imperative as this partnership was to both parties, the 28-year-old decided to go on his own path.

Gervonta Davis plans to “put his pants on”

The split between both the parties came ahead of Davis’s fight against Roland Romero last year. Even though this separation raised a lot of questions, Davis was unbothered by the same and took to Twitter to clear the air. In an interview, the undefeated Lightweight said, “Much love to Mayweather Promotions – Leonard Ellerbe, Floyd Mayweather, all them guys. I definitely appreciate them. I’m just doing my own thing now.

Davis also has not ruled out any possibility of working with Mayweather promotions again. He added, “Not saying in the future we can’t work together or anything like that, but I’m just trying to put my own pants on.”  Even though Davis is currently involved with Al Haymon, he plans to follow in the footsteps of Mayweather Jr. and make it into the business world of boxing.
