‘The Best Ever’ was sharing his views on Canelo Alvarez via a telephonic conversation with FightHype. Mayweather iterated, “They say Canelo is no different. When I was young, somebody had to give a Canelo that somebody had to give Canelo a shot at the top guy because I was the top guy. So Canelo is.. he’s a top guy.”

“Benavidez, Charlo, or one of those guys deserve a chance. Give one of, at least one of them a chance,” Mayweather added.
Mayweather was discussing Canelo’s career decisions. Meanwhile, he brings out a notable point about Alvarez not giving enough opportunity to the deserved contenders.

Canelo Alvarez experienced his maiden defeat in this fight. He took the loss seriously and thereafter, he never faced a loss and acquired several titles in his illustrious career ahead. This loss can be marked as the start of success in Alvarez’s career.

Mayweather asked Canelo to give the top contenders a chance to fight him and prove their worth. Moreover, he also suggests some names of the fighters like David Benavidez and Jermall Charlo who can match up to the P4P expectations for the fight.
We are a few days away from Alvarez’s next bout against the Russian contender, Dmitry Bivol. It will be interesting to see if Alvarez accepts a challenge from the names suggested by Mayweather.
