In terms of financial success, Floyd Mayweather has been miles ahead of his contemporaries. According to media publication TheRichest, Mayweather is the richest boxer in 2022 with an estimated net worth of $450 million. This is the result of his various smart investments. Mayweather made his first major investment by founding his own promotion back in 2007 after his $750,000 bailout from Bob Arum’s Top Rank boxing. Following this, he has expanded his businesses owing his own sports fashion and boxing equipment apparel brand, ‘The Money Team’.

Mayweather’s love for cars is common knowledge, therefore he even invested in a NASCAR team called ‘Money Team Racing’, with the team competing in the 2022 season.

The four-division champion was followed by another boxing legend, George Foreman, who had an estimated net worth of $300 million. However, the majority of his net worth wasn’t because of his boxing earnings but because of his signature Foreman cooking grill. The heavyweight legend closely worked with Salton Inc offering the role of a spokesperson for their fat-reducing grill, which sold over 100 million units by 2009.

Although ‘Money’ has retired from professional boxing, he still competes in exhibition bouts. He notably took on Logan Paul and Don Moore in exhibition fights and has now set his sight on returning to Japan for a bout. He is set to face Japanese MMA star Mikuru Asakura on September 25th at the Saitama Super Dome. Moreover, this will be his second time competing in Japan. Mayweather previously knocked out Japanese kickboxer Tenshin Nasukawa in the first round back in 2018.

Asakura will compete in his first boxing fight, although he does have a 16-3 MMA record with one no-contest. This could be a good fight for the 45-year-old, as Asakura does have more fighting experience than his previous opponents. However, it is highly unlikely that the Japanese MMA star will be able to hold up against one of the best boxers ever.
