Boxing fans have been longing for a bout between unified welterweight champion Errol Spence Jr. and WBO welterweight champion Terence Crawford. Moreover, recently the fight was closer to getting booked than it was ever before, with fans feeling confident that the fight would finally take place.

However, the talks between both parties broke down with each side blaming the other for the debacle. Crawford recently came out and revealed that two hedge funds were interested in making the fight. He also claimed that the funds were willing to dish out guaranteed purses of $25 million to both fighters to finalize their long-awaited fight.

Despite this, ‘Bud’ added that PBC president and Spence’s promoter Al Haymon refused to work with unnamed investors. He will now defend his WBO 147-pound crown against Russia’s David Avanesyan on December 10 in Omaha, Nebraska.

Crawford took to Twitter to explain this and stated that Spence was not responding to this because it was the truth. However, Spence was also quick to fire back at Crawford, claiming that his side gave ‘Bud’ everything he wanted but didn’t get an answer back.
