Floyd Mayweather is one of those athletes who is not just an icon in the United States but all over the globe. His boxing prowess and achievements in the sport have inspired countless youths to pursue the sport regardless of their location on the blue dot. In a recent pinch, ‘Money’ Mayweather visited the country of India for an exclusive interview with Krishna Shroff from Matrix Fight Night.
Shroff is the co-founder of Matrix Fight Night, a pioneer in Indian Mixed Martial Arts, alongside her mother, Ayesha Shroff. The mother-daughter duo launched the organization back in March 2019 and has since orchestrated 13 successful events. However, in a recent social media post, the company revealed that the organization had the opportunity to sit down with legendary Floyd Mayweather.

Turning to Instagram, Shroff’s MFN shared some snaps of Mayweather and Krishna during the interview. While the interview itself hasn’t been released to the public yet, MFN did release a statement about the interview held in the Meta Office in Mumbai in their Instagram post.

“Powerhouse Krishna Shroff stands tall with boxing icon Floyd Mayweather in India, epitomizing resilience, ambition, and international impact,” wrote the MMA organization. Honoring Mayweather’s presence in the interview and his visit to the country, MFN labeled the moment, “A monumental moment indeed!”
Moreover, Shroff herself revealed a few clips from the interview on her Instagram story. Interestingly, she managed to bag an autograph from Mayweather on her MFN-branded gloves, claiming, “Blessing for @mfn mma from the legend himself, @floydmayweather.” Meanwhile, Ayesha Shroff revealed how MFN came into existence.
Matrix Fight Night: A result of a coincidence

According to a March 17 report from Entrepreneur India, Ayesha dug deep into the past to reveal how the organization came into existence. The co-owner of MFN claimed that her son, an actor in Bollywood, was the owner of an MMA team, but he could not attend one of his team’s events due to a shoot. So, he had asked Ayesha and Krishna to attend the event in his stead.

Ayesha claimed, “I was hooked for life. I cannot even explain the kind of euphoria that took over. And the kind of excitement to watch an MMA fight live. I just turned to my daughter at that point. And I said, ‘This is something that we should be doing, Krishna.’ We launched MFN. And this was March 2019. And here we are, almost on the verge of MFN 14.”

With Combat sports taking hold over the entire globe, Floyd Mayweather graced the Indian combat scene with his presence.
