After yet another explosive knockout victory, Gervonta Davis’ stock is rising even higher. The undefeated WBA lightweight champion knocked out Leo Santa Cruz in devastating fashion to become the WBA super-featherweight champion.

The fight was on Showtime pay-per-view and received a lot of criticism. However, the fight delivered and was worthy of a pay-per-view event.

Speaking at the post-fight press conference, Davis’ promoter, Floyd Mayweather, spoke about ‘Tank’ Davis’ future as a pay-per-view star. He said:

“What we have to do is, we have to talk about it on Monday with my team. Communicate with Al, communicate with Lenny and my PBC team, my Mayweather promotions team. And talk with Showtime’s Steven Espinoza and see what we come up with.”

The legend of the sport who represents the young superstar said, “We don’t know what the future hold. But we do know this [guy] is a future star.” Mayweather believes Gervonta could headline many more events in the future.

Who could Gervonta Davis fight next?

The numbers of the pay-per-view have not been released yet, but there will surely be rumors of Davis’ next fight being on pay-per-view. The undefeated star said he is open to fight anyone.

Mayweather, however, has already confirmed that he won’t be fighting Teofimo Lopez as his next fight. Despite this, it is safe to say that Davis’ next fight will also be a pay-per-view event. With a performance like that, fans will want to witness the live-action.

Mayweather also confirmed that there will be no talk about the next fight for at least the next 20 days. And he thinks Davis’ should be allowed to enjoy this victory with his family.
