A couple of months ago, Floyd Mayweather engaged in an exhibition bout against the grandson of the New York crime family’s boss John Gotti III. The fight was quite eventful and things escalated quickly and the whole arena soon became embroiled in a brawl. It started after Gotti III threw his hands on Mayweather as the fight was discontinued by the referee. Soon both corners were at each other’s throats.
Like a domino effect, there was fighting everywhere in the stands. There have been many voices that have been wondering if the brawl was all rehearsed and fake. These accusations have marred the integrity of the bout. Recently, Mayweather even came out with his response to the claims made about the fight.

Mayweather recently did an interview with FightHype.com. During the interview, he discussed various things including his thoughts on the recent Errol Spence Jr. vs Terence Crawford bout. As the attention shifted to his bout against Gotti, the interviewer asked his opinion regarding the fight.
Mayweather appeared disappointed as he said, “Yeah it was kind of crazy because people was like I think from what I was hearing, a lot of people on social media was saying that it was fake or scripted.” Furthermore, he made it clear that the claims were untrue. To further his claim he added, “Absolutely not true, you see that it was fights all around the arena. You know when something like that happens, it can’t be faked or rehearsed.”
Mayweather then revealed that his and Gotti’s team are looking to make a rematch bout between the two later this year. Only time will tell how the rivalry develops further.
Mayweather shares his honest opinion on Spence Jr.
With the recent devastating loss, ‘The Truth’ is now looking to transition into a higher-weight division. Moreover, a lot of boxing enthusiasts are of the opinion that Spence is too big for the 147lbs weight class. Even the former five-division champion has similar advice for the younger boxer.

Mayweather stated, “I want the best for Errol Spence. If I was training him or I was in his corner, I don’t think he should be fighting at 147 at all. I don’t even think he should be fighting at 154. I think he should be fighting at 160 or 168. That’s just my honest opinion.”

Notably, Spence has previously shown his interest in fighting at the super Middleweight division, when asked about a potential bout with Canelo Alvarez. There are undoubtedly a lot of risks in such a maneuver. After such a huge loss, things can easily go south for the former champion pretty easily.
