Taking finances into account, the five highest-paid players of the World Cup 2022 will earn a total of USD 452 million. Moreover, USD 173 million, from their total earnings, will be made off the pitch.
Messi takes up second place in this list. It is said that he will earn USD 120 million this season. With USD 55 million being made off the field. Meanwhile, Ronaldo stands in the third position with USD 100 million in earnings, and USD 60 million made off the field.
Floyd Mayweather earned more than Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo
While their remuneration might seem Gargantuan for regular folk. It is but spare change for the richest boxer in the world. Floyd Mayweather Jr’s career is defined by fat purses. And he even made Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi’s combined earnings in a single fight night.
