Does Mayweather's watch swap prove he's the ultimate king of bling in the sports world?

Floyd Mayweather is no stranger to luxury, but his latest purchase takes things to another level. Known for his love of extravagant watches, the five-division champion just became the first person in the world to own the complete Avi & Co. Hue collection. It includes four stunning, gemstone-encrusted timepieces, worth $1 million, perfectly portraying his taste for the finer things in life, and, of course, he made sure to flaunt them on social media today.

Hours ago, Mayweather turned to his Instagram handle to reveal owning just one of those pieces wasn’t enough for the richest boxer in the world because of the expert craftsmanship that has gone into making the collection. So I bought all four from the exclusive ‘Hue Collection,’” Mayweather wrote.

Meanwhile, he also shared a video of himself talking about his new purchase, which included: Hue Ice Pink, Hue Ice Blue, Hue Ice Red, and Hue Ice Green. “Now, when I travel, I like to take seven watches, seven Avi and Co. watches. Now, I know in the past, I talked about 30 watches, 40 watches, but now, it’s all about the Hue collection and these three watches,” Mayweather said in the video.

However, the Hue Collection is nowhere near the most expensive watch in Mayweather’s wardrobe. Back in June 2018, ‘Money’ splurged a huge amount of money, $18 million to be exact, on the ‘The Billionaire Watch.’ He claimed to have bought that one from Tadashi Fukushima, branding the seller “the best jeweler in the world.”

The watch itself was created by celebrity jeweler Jacob & Co. and has 260 carats of emerald-cut diamonds and individual stones of up to 3 carats. It, of course, isn’t the only expensive piece besides the Hue Collection in Mayweather’s collection, as you can find the undefeated boxer flaunting many more on Instagram.

However, the question now is, how did Mayweather get his hands on the sparkly new watches?

Avi & Co. opened its doors on West 47th Street in New York City in 2009, and since then, founder Avi Hiaeve has made a name for himself as a go-to supplier of luxury products for celebrities across the U.S. One of his high-profile clients is Floyd Mayweather, with whom Hiaeve formed a relationship a few years ago after designing custom jewelry for the boxing legend.

“When he saw the pieces in person, he couldn’t decide whether he wanted the pink, blue, red, or green version. So, he opted to buy all four,” Hiaeve said, per Forbes. Interestingly enough, the first of these watches, the Hue Pink Ice, was unveiled in July, boasting 945 natural pink sapphires weighing a total of 110 carats.

Priced at a staggering $250,000, the Hue Pink Ice was just the beginning. Inspired by its success, Hiaeve went on to create the other versions: the red watch features 105 carats of rubies, the blue watch contains 108 carats of sapphires, and the green watch is adorned with 115 carats of tsavorites.

It appears that Floyd Mayweather never invests in anything of low value. His latest purchase is a testament to the same. However, the question is, what did you think about the watches?
