To remain undefeated throughout one’s professional career is regarded as one of the greatest achievements a professional boxer can have when he retires. But, as enticing as that seems, it is not a cakewalk. And not many have been able to do so. But it is safe to say that former five-division world champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. has scaled Mount Olympus. The 46-year-old is on the list of boxers who never came across an opponent with the caliber to beat them. But, it seems like despite the glory in that, Mayweather Jr. has found himself in the center of a blaming saga.

YouTuber turned professional boxer Jake Paul believes that Floyd Mayweather Jr. is the reason why the boxing world cannot witness the fruition of sensational heavyweight fights. And he further discussed how Mayweather Jr’s legacy had set an example for other boxers to try and remain undefeated throughout their professional careers.

‘The Problem Child’ recently made an appearance at the F1 Miami GP where he gave an interview sharing his opinion on the shenanigans in the heavyweight division. Notably, the 26-year-old is scheduled to fight former UFC fighter Nate Diaz in August.

Paul said, “It’s annoying, man. I think the fighters are not willing to risk their undefeated records and put it all on the line.” He further discussed what he thinks is much more important to the fighters. He added, “Their legacy and being undefeated is more important to them.” Furthermore, he did not hesitate to rope in ‘Money Mayweather’ to make his point about undefeated records in the sport.

He said, “Floyd Mayweather set that example for the sport.” Paul further stated, “So if you lose, you’re swept under the rug. But, more champions should go and fight other big names.” The former Disney star wants to see influential fighters take on risks and fight other champions. Not long ago, the Ohio-raised sensation pulled a PR stunt with none other than Mayweather Jr.

What is happening in the heavyweight division?

The fans are not pleased with the heavyweight division in boxing. According to the fans, the fights that should occur are not even being talked about. For instance, the world wants to see the undisputed clash between Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk. But, their negotiations proved to be a disappointment.
