Devin Haney has always admired Floyd Mayweather, he’s been vocal about his admiration towards ‘Pretty Boy’ throughout his career. Well, the feeling’s mutual for the former five-division Champion, as he’s asked Haney for training together multiple times. Haney first met Floyd Mayweather in 2020 during a virtual training session and then continued to have such sessions on a regular basis. Then months later, they met in person for a workout routine, and that’s how everything started. Haney resonates with Mayweather a lot, as their mindset moves in a similar direction.

Undoubtedly, Haney is currently among the best fighters of this era and is on his way to achieving greatness just like Mayweather. However, once during a podcast, Devin Haney stated that Mayweather has messed up the sport of boxing because a lot of fighters give more value to a zero-loss record. As a result, they’re afraid of fighting great opponents, so that they can maintain their perfect record just like Mayweather. But despite such statements, ‘Money’ stood against the tides and supported Devin Haney.

Devin Haney recently made an Instagram Post where he flaunted his beautiful sky-blue Lamborghini car, and added multiple snaps in the post. Besides this, he also wore the T-shirt with young Floyd Mayweather on it, at the time when he became the WBC Super Featherweight champion. So among all the flexing pictures, he didn’t forget to pay tribute to his admiration, ‘Pretty Boy’ Mayweather.

So, under the post, Floyd Mayweather commented, by using two emoticons. Mayweather accepted Haney’s homage with grace and replied with a thumbs-up emoji and a money bag emoji. This shows that he recognizes Haney’s talent and love, even though the majority of fans accused him of ducking Shakur Stevenson. This has even happened before with his previous Instagram Post, where the fans called him a “fake champ“.

Anyway, in addition to Mayweather, his daughter Jirah Mayweather also loved the gesture of the Undisputed Lightweight champion. She shared Haney’s post on her Instagram Story, where the world could see her father’s picture on the shirt. She also went against the tide and disregarded the fans who believe that Haney is ducking Stevenson.

Shakur Stevenson has been calling out Devin Haney for a fight, since his last contest against Vasyl Lomachenko. Stevenson believes that Haney isn’t on his level as he believed that he struggled a lot against Lomachenko. So, he wants to fight ‘The Dream’ to prove to the whole world that he’s on a greater level than the Undisputed champion.

Stevenson explained how in his last bout, Bill Haney called him out, but when Stevenson confronted his team during the Loma fight, they went outside the boxing ring. So he came to the conclusion that they’re afraid of him, but he had a message for Haney’s team, as he said, “I can’t wait.” As of now, Haney hasn’t given any assurance regarding the prospect of this fight so nothing is certain yet.
