Boxing fans witnessed the biggest upset of the sport when ‘Iron Mike’ faced the first loss of his career. Tyson was set to fight Buster Douglas on February 11, 1990. The spectators at the Tokyo Dome were already convinced that Tyson would prevail as the winner. They were just there to see Tyson’s boxing brilliance.
‘Iron Mike’ was dominating the fight since the first round. He even nearly knocked out Douglas in the eighth round. However, Buster struck a hard uppercut that floored Tyson on the canvas in round 10, and it marked the first defeat of ‘The Baddest Man on the Planet’.

Furthermore, fellow heavyweight Evander Holyfield was Tyson’s biggest rival at the time. Holyfield had defeated Tyson in their first face-off, but something very unusual occurred during their rematch. The second fight between the two heavyweights took place at the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas, on June 28, 1997.
During the third round of the bout, both the fighters were tied in a clinch. Surprisingly, Tyson bit a piece of Holyfield’s ear leaving him bleeding. However, the referee resumed the fight, as Holyfield was certain to resume the fight. But Tyson again reached toward his opponent’s ear and tried biting it.
