Boxing legend Muhammad Ali achieved everything he could inside the squared circle, becoming one of the greatest boxers of his generation. However, what was missing was a family, which the former champion searched for after his boxing exploits. Ali would marry four different women in his life and have nine children with six different women. Thus, it is safe to say that he was deeply in search of loved ones who could support him through his hard times.

It is said that a parent’s most joyous moment comes after their child is just born. Moreover, the realization that one has now become a parent will always be a feeling that most parents long for. As such, people got to see Ali becoming a parent for the first time as a resurfaced photo of him holding his daughter moments after her birth is making rounds on the internet.

Ali looked ecstatic, holding his baby daughter in his hands. In addition, he is seen kissing Laila, showcasing some of his fatherly love toward his newborn child. Although their relationship would face some tumultuous times after Laila got older, this photo will always be a proof of Ali’s love for Laila.

Laila Ali reveals she was not affected by her parent’s divorce

In her book Reach! Finding Strength, Spirit, and Personal Power, Laila revealed how her parents were getting divorced. This was after years of living together but failing to make their marriage work. Laila revealed that she was nine years old at the time and didn’t have a tight grip on the reality of things.

“She decided to leave-and divorce-my father. Their long live-in separation no longer made sense. He hadn’t been faithful, and she hadn’t been able to play the part of subservient Muslim wife…” she wrote. However, while this was certainly a hard choice, Laila decided to live with her mother and would only make her relationship better with Ali when she got older and started making a name for herself in boxing.
