

The two heavyweight champions Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk have been under scrutiny for the past few months. For a couple of years, the boxing world has been demanding a unification bout between Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk. In the summer of this year, both champions were negotiating. This promised the fans that the anticipated match was around the corner.
However, the fight fell through due to disagreements behind the scenes. It appears that the bout may not take place anytime soon. This left the fans in a state of frenzy. The frustration escalated after, ‘The Gypsy King,’ decided to fight Francis Ngannou. Moreover, this dissatisfaction was also made evident by a heavyweight contender, Filip Hrgović.

Filip Hrgović lashes out at Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk
Hrgovic is a 31-year-old heavyweight contender. He boasts an impressive undefeated record of 16 victories with no defeats. In an interview with Boxing Social, he slammed Fury and Usyk for not having their unification bout come to fruition and fighting other opponents. Reflecting on the same, he stated, “It’s disrespectful to boxing, to anyone. He doesn’t want that unification and I do not want anyone to tell me about unification. Because I do not care. Fury doesn’t want it and they had so much time to make that unification.”

In addition, he guessed as to why the two combatants were not fighting each other. According to him, they are protecting their undefeated records by not facing a formidable challenge. He adds, “They didn’t want to do it. Maybe both of them are afraid to lose their perfect record. I do not care for that.” Moreover, in the same interview, Hrgović urged both the heavyweight champions to fight him.

Hrgović calls out Fury and Usyk for a title fight
In the same interview, he wanted both of them to abide by the rules of boxing and refrain from making a mockery of the sport. In addition, he thinks the right step forward is for either of them to fight him. He stated, “They show so much disrespect to boxing and boxing fans. I should be next and I want to tell them, to follow the rules and fight your mandatories. I am next in the line”
