The long-awaited bout between Terence Crawford and Errol Spence Jr. is set to captivate the boxing world later this month. This clash for the undisputed Welterweight title has been a dream matchup for fans. However, its realization has been hindered by numerous delays and negotiations falling through. Now, with all obstacles cleared, Crawford and Spence are ready to step into the ring and determine who will be crowned the undisputed king at 147 lbs.
Ever since Terence Crawford moved up to the Welterweight division and claimed the WBO strap in 2018, a showdown with Spence Jr. has remained imminent. In a recent post on his Instagram, ‘Bud’ took some subtle jabs at Spence. Crawford wrote, “Filet on the way,” in the caption of a post where he can be seen training. This was meant as a dig at Spence’s nickname ‘Big Fish’ suggesting he would metaphorically cook the unified champion during their bout.

While this is not the first time Crawford has taken a dig at Spence, it is exciting to see the rivalry heating up just weeks before their fight. Moreover, the WBO champ feels that his critics will be silenced when he beats Spence convincingly. This will help him cement himself as the undisputed champion of the division.
Terence Crawford’s bold call out to critics ahead of the Spence Jr clash
In an interview with BoxingScene.com, Crawford expressed his determination to prove himself in the ring and make a statement against Spence. He also firmly believes that after the fight, he will earn the respect that he rightfully deserves. However, ‘Bud’ made it clear that if anyone refuses to acknowledge his abilities and achievements, it will be their own burden to bear.
“After this fight, everybody that had something negative to say about Terence Crawford will eat their words, and they will give me the respect that I rightfully deserve. If they don’t, that’s something they will have to deal with,” he said
