Ryan Garcia might seem all confident, but his recent social media post has shown his inklings toward breaking a sweat. The fighter engulfed in uncertainty after his win over Devin Haney, has now voiced his demands in case the victory is overturned.
On May 1st, reports emerged detailing that ‘KingRy’ had tested positive for a banned performance-enhancing drug (PED), Ostarine. The fighter protested the surfaced results of his VADA tests that they took before and after the Devin Haney fight. His attorney then announced he would oversee the proceedings of the B-test, another test that was used to confirm A-tests (the initial ones). The test will happen on 22nd May. What if those come out positive?

On X, the boxer sought the money he paid to Haney ahead of his fight. At their pre-fight presser, the fighters had made a bet that if either of them came overweight for the fight, they would have to pay the other $500,000 per extra pound they came with. This was specifically targeted toward Garcia, who, in days leading to the clash, had made his opponent confident that he was “fat.”
During the ceremonial weigh-ins, the Californian came about 3 lbs heavier than the stipulated max weight, 140 lbs. Behind the scenes, it was agreed he would pay up his bet, and the fight would cease to be a championship clash. On their social media, both Haney and he confirmed that Garcia had honored the bet.
Now that it remains likely his win can be overturned if his B-tests also come positive, Garcia has demanded the $1.5 million back. He wrote, “I need my money back if they overrule my victory… I paid him money and that was to accept the weight… So give me my f**king money back.”

While Ryan Garcia’s hands are tied if the tests turn positive again, apart from launching his own set of lawsuits, the fighter has argued on multiple premises in this fiasco.

Earlier, in a candid conversation on X Live, the 25-year-old fighter played around with the fact that the positive report might have caught the presence of the banned substance in his body. However, he also declared he did not consume them on purpose. He explained, “I think there are two options. I took up tainted supplements that had traces of ostrogen (Ostarine) or whatever the f**k that is.”
However, he was fearless in considering the whole situation might be a setup by Haney’s side. He quipped, “Or they (VADA) are really f**king with me and they have this up their sleeve. You know, in case Devin Haney lost. It’s just so weird that Victor Conte is so close to VADA. It’s just bro, it’s bullsh*t.”
Today, on X, he furthered such a theory. He wrote, “People just can’t imagine someone actually rigging a test…Like Litterally people have done worst things…They tell me but in the end something was in your system…Bruh it magically appeared a day before and after the fight…Don’t be so naive.”
