The shocking clip of a first-round knockout seems to have taken the community by storm. From disbelief to sheer admiration, reactions were aplenty to the post. Per the information available, the match between Terence Williams and Jonathan Ariel Sosa took place at the WhiteSands Event Center in Plant City, Florida.
The event was put up by Pro Box Promotions. The fight was one of the five bouts showcased during the Wednesday Night Fights. The light welterweight bout between Robbie Davie Jr. and Sergey Lipinets headlined it. Of the five, two matches, including the one between Williams and Sosa, ended in a knockout.

The story of the Williams-Sosa fight was seemingly over before it even started. Such was the convincing array of shots Tarpon Strings, Florida-born Williams delivered. The footage begins a little over a minute into the first round. With both boxers closing in at the ring center, the fight’s storyline took a nose dive when two back-to-back left hooks from Williams sent Sosa down to the canvas. Why didn’t the Argentine raise his hands to guard his face?
But it was what they saw afterwards that worried most of the followers. Sosa fell down hard, with the sound of his head banging hard on the floor clearly audible. By this time, he was unconscious, and as a reaction, his limbs stiffened. The referee stopped the fight and quickly called up the ringside medical team to check on Sosa.
Boxing Night: Viral Uproar
Most of those who commented seemed concerned about the well-being of the beaten boxer. But that didn’t prevent a few from giving credit where it was due.
This user believes that it was both a combination of the deadly left hook from Terence Williams and the impact on his head when Jonathan Ariel Sosa hit the floor that caused the terrible freeze over.
Crazy second left hook but also whiplash to the back of the head when he smacked the floor 😬😬 😨

The next one also shared similar viewpoints. According to them, Sosa went lights-out when the back of his head connected with the canvas. Receiving a solid hit on the face and then falling down with the back of the head bearing the full brunt of the collision doesn’t bode well for a boxer. The user also seems to welcome the idea of head protection that provides padding at the occipital region.
It was the back of his head hitting the canvas that caused the posting. The combo of getting knocked out and then smashing the back of your head into the canvas is so bad. I feel like you could make some sort of head gear that doesn't pad front of the head but puts a pad in back.

Then this user, who responded to an initial tweet, said that this is how a fight ends when there is a boxer who hasn’t won a single fight during the last 10 outings. Many of his losses came via knockouts, they said.

A close look at Jonathan Ariel Sosa reveals that the Buenos Aires-born boxer has a concerning record of only 6 wins against 17 losses (6 KOs). Apart from the glaring breaks in his career, after May 20, 2017, Sosa hasn’t won a fight.

On the other hand, for a boxer who started professional boxing just a year ago, it would be his sixth consecutive win, out of which five were secured through knockouts. The fight may find a place in the ‘knockout of the year’ contention. However, it cannot be denied how many felt the shivers down their spines from the way Jonathan Ariel Sosa went down.
