Fans Raise PPV Concern as Ryan Garcia vs Devin Haney Official Fight Poster Gets Release

The Ryan Garcia and Devin Haney fight has a new poster. The fight on April 20, initially scheduled to take place in Las Vegas, will reportedly happen at New York’s Barclays Center now. Fans are as thrilled as they are relieved to know that the fight stays on. However, a seemingly innocuous query now seems to be overtaking the otherwise general discussions in a big fight.

DAZN made a loud announcement through its official X/Twitter handle: “𝐍𝐞𝐰 𝐘𝐨𝐫𝐤, 𝐍𝐞𝐰 𝐘𝐨𝐫𝐤. @Realdevinhaney vs. @RyanGarcia will go down at the @barclayscenter on April 20 LIVE on DAZN worldwide. #HaneyGarcia @GoldenBoyBoxing.” So far so good. But soon conversation among those comments took an altogether different turn. Given the high-profile fight, their concern might come across as valid to many. 

Up in the Air: Ryan Garcia vs. Devin Haney

Given that it’s a Matchroom feature, the live broadcast responsibility rests with DAZN. As of now, there’s no information regarding a tie-up with another broadcaster. However, many of the followers were persistent that it should be made clear whether the fight is pay-per-view or non-pay-per-view.

For instance, the following user asked matter-of-factly: Instead of taking customers for a ride, the organizers should lay out all the details regarding PPV clearly.

But then this follower speculated that in the United States, it was pay-per-view. However, the organizers have yet to reach a decision on providing the facility in other areas. The follower said the Devin Haney and Regis Prograis fight could have been a non-PPV bout, but under no circumstances will the fight with Ryan Garcia follow suit.

However, there were also people like the following user who found the non-pay-per-view option so attractive that, if it were available, they were even willing to go for a subscription.

Nevertheless, on one side, there were users who seemed to support the non-pay-per-view version.

There were also others who apparently questioned why the Garcia-Haney fight is not a PPV clash.

Then there were a few pragmatic voices as well. To this follower, as long as it’s certain that the Haney-Garcia fight is in place, it doesn’t matter where it takes place.

The much-vaunted fight comes in the wake of a previously failed talk. Hence, any development, understandably, sparks discussions and assumptions among followers.

Alongside the Fury-Usyk fight, the Garcia-Haney fight stands out as one of the year’s biggest bouts. Reportedly, ticketing concerns might have led to the change in the fight site. However, it shouldn’t be forgotten that scores of fans will be watching the fight across the globe. Undoubtedly, if the PPV prices are reasonable, then fans will be more than willing to partake in the event and enjoy the fights to the core.
