Mayweather faced Judah at the Thomas and Mack Centre in Paradise, Nevada. The fight that took place on April 8, 2006, saw Mayweather fighting for Judah’s IBF welterweight title. Additionally, the IBO welterweight title was also up for grabs.
The bout rightfully billed as ‘Sworn Enemies‘, saw one of the most explosive inside-the-ring altercations in welterweight history. Mayweather had the fight in control for a majority of the 12-round fight. Round 10 was no different, and Mayweather was seen taunting Judah. However, things quickly took an ugly turn and Judah hit him with a low blow, followed by a right hand to the back of the head.
This enraged his uncle and trainer, Roger Mayweather, who jumped inside the ring to confront Judah. Yoel Judah, Zab Judah’s father, quickly followed suit and even threw a punch at the older Mayweather. This, in turn, paved way for both the fighter’s camp to jump in for an all-out melee.
