Triple threat match in the parking lot? Who's your money on: Garcia, Davis, or Haney?

What happens when three top hitters of the lightweight division meet at a hotel? Quite literally, Ryan Garcia, Devin Haney, and Gervonta Davis found themselves in such a situation. All of them are in the same hotel. Tensions are bound to soar as all three share a violent history. Yesterday, KingRy, out of the blue, posted on X, “Devin Haney Gervonta Davis and my self are at the same hotel wtf.” Since then, on the post, fans have been speculating what would happen if the three came face-to-face.

Haney and Garcia faced each other in the ring on April 20th to settle the beef that started during the amateur years. The result was a loss of face for the former undisputed lightweight champion Devin Haney. Never before had he been knocked down, let alone three times on the same night. Garcia, for the first time, exposed vulnerabilities in Haney’s game as he delivered a dominant performance. Nonetheless, Ryan’s euphoria was shortlived as his win against Haney was turned into ‘no contest’; he was later popped for having a PED in his system, Ostarine. As a result, ‘KingRy’ will also face a year-long suspension. However, Devin is dissatisfied with Garcia’s punishment and intends to take further legal action, citing mental and financial distress. If the law of the jungle prevailed and they were alone in a room, they would likely fight to the death. As Devin Haney even pointed out recently, “I want to make him pay for what he did… I want to make him pay in and out of the ring.”

To recall the next epic rivalry, fans need to think back to last April when Garcia and Davis squared off in the ring to settle their differences. A seventh-round liver shot forced Garcia to retire from the fight, showcasing a masterclass performance from ‘Tank,’ who posed numerous challenges throughout. However, certain stipulations cast a shadow over the results. A rehydration clause in the contract left Garcia severely weight-drained, and he also claimed to be suffering from a rib injury. Now, ‘KingRy’ insists that if the bout had taken place at his preferred weight limit, Davis wouldn’t have stood a chance. Is the undefeated 30-0 fighter an easier opponent than Haney? According to Ryan Garcia, yes. Clearly, there are many ‘what ifs’ that boxing fans are eager to see resolved.

Next in line is Devin Haney and Gervonta Davis. Although both have not faced each other in the ring, but, they have sparred before in 2016. Fans might remember how Garcia leaked the video of them engaging in a sparring session in the Mayweather gym. But, that doesn’t give the whole picture, as Haney claims it was heavily edited and he was only 16 years old at that time. But, who did the most damage? We will possibly never know the answer to the question. However, the fans do want to know what would happen if a defensive and cautious boxer like Haney went up against an explosive boxer like Davis who has 28 KO victories in thirty fights. Meanwhile, fans had a field day imagining possible scenarios if all three met in a hotel room lobby.

Seems like a good idea for a skit?

It is a battle of big egos. Three of them to be precise. But, is it big enough to fit in a room? One fan has jokingly proposed a “Triple threat match” to settle the bad blood.

What’s your perspective on:

Triple threat match in the parking lot? Who's your money on: Garcia, Davis, or Haney?

Have an interesting take?

Speculating that the three fighters may never face each other in the ring again, they should be going at it in the hotel lobby, or the parking lot, proposed another fan of Ryan Garcia!

On the other hand, a fan suggested they resolve their differences inside the ring and arrange a fight for everyone to watch. Personal issues shouldn’t interfere with a great match. Nice idea indeed!

One fan has already picked a winner if these fighters were ever to compete in a triple-threat match. Meanwhile, he has been following Davis’ social media insults directed at Haney for his loss to Garcia. Interestingly, he had also favored Garcia over Haney before their match even occurred.
