The fan continued and admitted he didn’t watch boxing, but he knew the “people” of Haney’s caliber and who they were. Despite his initial hesitancy and doubts of it being a fake account, he clicked on it. It turned out to be the 25-year-old boxer. He continued, “And he [Devin Haney] goes, ‘Hey, bro, I saw that you live in your car. That sucks. I have been in that position. You are not gonna live in your car, bro’.”

Following this, Haney asked the fan for his number. “I gave it to him, and he Apple pay-ed me $1500 to go get an Airbnb, a hotel. He’s like, ‘I know how it is, bro. God made me see your video, and it was like, ‘You want to help this kid out’,” the fan added.
The fan concluded the clip by asserting the need to stay appreciative, and eventually good things would follow. He extended his gratitude to the super lightweight fighter and also expressed his zeal, as he wanted Haney to knock out Ryan Garcia. “I mean, it sucked living in my car, but I don’t have to do it anymore. So, I’m extremely grateful. Devin Haney, you are a great man. I want you to knock out Ryan Garcia so bad,” the fan said.

There have been several reports of Haney, at 31-0, doing volunteer work, feeding the homeless, and handing them cash. He worked as a volunteer at the Nevada Partnership for Homeless Youth (NPHY) in Las Vegas in 2019, talking to them and serving them food. ‘The Dream’ did philanthropy in Houston in 2021, as he helped feed homeless young adults at the Covenant House Texas (CTH) during the COVID pandemic.
“In between fights, the thing I like doing most is giving back to those less fortunate… I’ve made some really smart investments over the past few years, and I can see myself doing more charitable work. It brings me great joy to help others,” Haney declared during the occasion.
