Yordenis Ugas has been absent from boxing since his defeat against the likes of Errol Spence Jr last year in April. Ugas, who is currently suspended by Texas Combative Sports Program indefinitely, took to Twitter and glanced at some “moments of adversity”. In his last fight, with three championship belts at stake, the 36-year-old faced Spence Jr. in the ring. Following some heated exchanges supplemented by Spence Jr’s domination in the ring, Ugas lost the fight in the 10th round and was immediately admitted to a hospital for recovery.

Reportedly, Ugas suffered a detached retina from the fight. In a social media post, he said, “I have a fracture in my eye and in the next few days the doctors will say how they will treat it. I spent all morning in a hospital and I write these words with only one eye, the other one is still closed.” Now that 2022 has ended, the former WBA title holder has looked back at those moments of adversity he overcame.

With pictures of him and his girlfriend, Ugas said, “Some moments of adversity in 2022 But God is miraculous, many times he sends you difficulties to turn your partner into a family🙏🏾 #54milagros #teamugas #ThankGod.”
