The boxing world was highly anticipating the rematch fight between Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano. It was scheduled to take place as the co-main event of the Mike Tyson vs. Jake Paul fight. However, Tyson suffered an ulcer flare-up during a flight from Miami to Los Angeles, which eventually put the entire event on hold. Because of this, the 57-year-old is advised to do only minimal training. Given the situation, the Taylor vs. Serrano match was also suspended.

Recently, there was a rumor that the Taylor vs Serrano II clash might take place in Germany. According to a report published in The Irish Times, it was claimed that the rematch would now be held in Frankfurt, Germany. The article said, “Katie Taylor’s fight against Amanda Serrano, originally scheduled to take place in Texas on July 20th, is expected to be postponed until October or November this year and is likely to take place in Germany.” However, it turned out that the news was merely conjecture.

Following the news becoming public and gaining traction, Jake Paul’s Most Valuable Promotions, which is orchestrating the event, strictly denied the claim. They wrote on X, “Reports of Taylor Serrano 2 taking place in Germany are 100% false.” Even Amanda Serrano, herself, refuted the validity of the information.

After the news went viral, an X user asked Serrano whether the fight was happening in Germany, and the boxer replied, “Not true buddy. Not at all.” In response to a question of whether her fight with Taylor would take place in Madison Square Garden again, the Puerto Rican replied, “Madison would have been great but I have the slightest idea. My team will figure it out.”

In the same X thread, a fan mentioned that despite the misinformation in the claim, the news was published by an Ireland-based publication. To this, Serrano responded with, “Yeah they always write whatever they want but get it wrong most of the time lol.”

While details on Serrano’s next bout remain currently under wraps, despite the uncertainty, her rival is wasting no time, gearing up for the crucial matchup.

‘The Bray Bomber’ defended her undisputed lightweight against Amanda Serrano in April 2022 at the Madison Square Garden. With a near-perfect record of 23-1-0, Taylor reigns supreme in the lightweight division. Her opponent, however, boasts a seasoned record of 46-2-1. Despite the disparity, Taylor’s attention is solely on preparing for what promises to be a thrilling encounter with Amanda Serrano, just like their last fight.

The Irish boxer recently posted a video on Instagram, where she can be seen slugging hard punches on a punching bag. Her caption read, “They can postpone the fight but not my work. I’ll be ready.”

The first encounter between the two at MSG created history as the biggest female boxing event of all time. Although Katie Taylor won the bout, Amanda Serrano gave Taylor a really hard fight that might have gone either way. The intensity of the heat between the two will be even higher this time around. Even though nothing official has been said about it yet, when it happens, it will go down as one of the biggest fights of the year.
