A defeat in boxing can be humbling. Jake Paul suffered his first-ever defeat in February of this year. He is notorious for being pompous and also outspoken. He was very candid about spectacularly defeating Tommy Fury leading up to the bout. Unfortunately for him, Fury swept a split-decision victory when the two squared off.

Needless to say, a loss would have a grave impact on not only his boxing career but also his mindset. Though, his brother, Logan Paul, subscribes to the notion that a defeat can be an opportunity to be humbled. He confessed this alongside Ryan Garcia on his podcast.

Paul had Ryan Garica on ImPaulsive podcast earlier this week. Garcia among other things, discussed his approach to fights and the importance of defeats. The same was ignited by Paul on the subject of Jake Paul’s recent defeat. He expressed that a defeat may propose more good than bad in the long run. ‘The Maverick’ expressed, Everyone can use a good humbling”.

To which, Garcia assented and also added some words of wisdom. He stated, If you can’t say you can lose you are insecure about what can happen.” He adds, “I don’t want to lose is better for my mindset to say rather I can’t even say that word. Like I think of it objectively but it won’t actually have an impact on mindset if you say to yourself like I can’t even lose. I think of look at it in a more truthful aspect.”

One may argue that Garcia spoke from a place of experience and makes a lot of sense. The sport is unpredictable no matter how much one deviates from the same. Nevertheless, ‘The Problem Child’ is yet to showcase how he comes back from this defeat.

Ryan Garcia applauds Jake Paul for fighting credible opponents

Paul has taken a lot of flack for not picking credible opponents from the public at large. However, Garica is not one of them. He applauded the boxer for fighting opponents that were more competent than many other professional boxers in their initial fights.
