Teofimo Lopez vs George Kambosos Jr. was an explosive fight. Both fighters came out all guns blazing in the very first round. Lopez looked to make good on his prediction of a first-round knockout. He viciously chased Kambosos Jr. around the ring, looking for that overhand right. ‘The Takeover’ hurt Kambosos in the first round and tried to close.
As Lopez closed the distance, Kambosos caught ‘The Takeover’ with a straight right, knocking him down in the very first round. As soon as he got up, Lopez caught Kambosos again, making him stumble. ‘Ferocious’ fought the smarter fight, as he switched levels, increased his punching volume, and stayed in the center of the ring, going toe to toe with Lopez.

With one of the hardest-hitting punchers in the division out of the way, many fighters took the opportunity to call Kambosos out for a fight. The Aussie was just a mandatory fight for Lopez, who looked to dispatch ‘Ferocious’ quickly and move on to better things.
‘Fearless’ Shakur Stevenson was one such fighter. He took to Twitter and wrote, “Yo @georgekambosos Beautiful work champ u looked great.. I would love a shot at them belts if you’re down”

The Lopez who fought Lomachenko is unrecognizable relative to the one tonight. Kambosos is very likely winning this fight and Lopez seems to have no adjustments.

I’m rooting for Teo, but I didn’t agree with those oddsmakers who predicted a KO winner for him, in the first 3 rounds. Kambosos far more durable than that, as we can see. #LopezKambososJr

Really close fight but I think this knockdown was the difference! I don’t care who you are, No one outside the Kambosos camp had him winning this before the fight so fair play to him. Showed us exactly how good he is! He should be labelled titanium chin also! #LopezKambososJr https://t.co/20txlgsFkc
