Boxing as a sport has been around for ages. There have been many champions and many great fights that have happened over the years. However, some fights, in particular, stand out in the memory of boxing fans because of what happened during the fight. The rematch between two of the greatest heavyweights in Mike Tyson and Evander Holyfield is one such fight.
The two men first fought in November 1996 where ‘The Real Deal’ claimed an impressive knockout win. However, what happened in the rematch is perhaps to this day one of the most shocking incidents in boxing history.
In the third round of the fight, while in a clinch, ‘Iron’ infamously bit off a piece of Holyfield’s ear. ‘Iron’ claimed this was in response to multiple headbutts in the first fight.
