Errol Spence Jr is not oblivious to boxing fights being vicious sometimes. The reigning unified welterweight champion likes to go hard or go home. And, as sensational as that mindset is when you’re boxing, it certainly can backfire. That’s something that happened when Spence Jr fought Cuban Yordenis Ugas. They locked horns with each other last year. And many were in awe of the ferocity these two displayed against each other. Even though Spence Jr evidently won the bout, his fight was not free from scares.
In a recent podcast episode, Spence Jr revealed that he thought Ugas knocked his teeth out when these two clashed. And the boxer couldn’t help but smile at the hilarity of this notion.

‘The Truth’ was the guest on the recent episode of the Pivot podcast. And, while on the podcast, the host was eager to know the reason behind Spence Jr’s smile when Ugas had him backed up against the corner. And the answer Spence Jr gave was not something he was expecting.
The host, while talking about the incident, asked, “He [Ugas] rocked you; boxing doesn’t seem fun to me to laugh and enjoy. You started laughing; what was funny?” Spence Jr reflected on the incident, saying, “He knocked my mouthpiece out. And the first thing on my mind is my teeth. The first thing in my mind was, Damn, he didn’t knock my teeth out. “ It seems Spence Jr had other concerns when fighting the Cuban.

Spence Jr used his tongue to feel for his teeth. If this was not enough, Spence Jr even looked on the ground to ensure his teeth were not on the canvas.
However, it seems like the champ got more conscious about not losing his teeth than he did about winning the fight.
