The current unified Welterweight champion, Errol Spence Jr once got the opportunity to spar with the former 5-division champion Floyd Mayweather. Now this was when Mayweather was preparing for his upcoming title defense against Robert Guerrero back in 2013, and Spence Jr was in the nascent stages of his career, training at the Mayweather gym. But ‘The Truth’ was also getting ready to face his fifth opponent in his professional career, Brandon Hopkins. The sparring session ended with mutual respect between the two fighters, according to Spence.

But Mayweather’s former pad-holder, Nate Jones, revealed at the beginning of the year, that Spence was about to get knocked out during the session. Spence has vehemently denied such speculation to be true. Even before this, he revealed last year in The Pivot Podcast, the hilarious trash talk between him and Mayweather that pointed in a different direction. Not only this, he even took a dig at Mayweather’s fight against Manny Pacquiao and divulged that his fight would be more interesting than theirs.

So at the Mayweather Gym, everybody was excited about this session. So, at first, both of them went for 5-6 minutes one round, but then Spence stated that Mayweather taunted him by saying, “You alright for a b**ch“. This fired up Spence and he put on the gloves again. After 8-9 minutes, Mayweather stopped it and Spence said, “I think I earned his respect at that time I think I earned his respect.” The video has resurfaced again, that has evoked responses from boxing fans.
