WBO Featherweight Champion, Emanuel Navarrete will enter the ring for the first time this year. ‘Vaquero’ will make the first defense of his belt against the 26-year-old Christopher Diaz. And ahead of the bout, Navarrete has explained why Diaz will be under more pressure.
The two will fight as the main event of a stacked card on Saturday. Navarrete goes into the bout as the favorite; however, he will face Diaz in Kissimmee, Florida, which is the city where ‘Pitufo’ stays. So despite being champion, ‘Vaquero’ has said that Diaz will be under more pressure.
The 32-1 boxer spoke to the media at the press conference ahead of the fight and opened up about Diaz getting the majority of the support.

“Even though that you know, 90% of the fans are going to be cheering for ‘Pitufo’, I feel like the pressure is going to be on him because he needs to perform for his people, for his fans.”
This comment from the Mexican showed he is not bothered by whom the fans support. This also revealed the champion’s mindset going into the fight. He seems focused on getting the victory, regardless of who is the favorite.
