If there is a person who perfectly embodies an extravagant lifestyle, it would be Floyd Mayweather. The 50-0 boxer knows how to enjoy the fruits of his labor. Along with his successful boxing career, Mayweather’s “smart investments” have made him one of the world’s wealthiest athletes. What’s more, Floyd isn’t one of the guys who likes to keep his materialistic pursuits private. Whether it is private jets, luxury car collections, or precious ornamental pieces, Mayweather flaunts them brazenly.

Ahead of his upcoming exhibition match against John Gotti III on August 24 in Mexico City, ‘TBE’ caught up with Clocked N’ Loaded Founder and CEO Lionel Khoury to indulge in his favorite accessory of choice—luxury watches! During the meet, the boxing great explained why all his timepieces had to have diamonds encrusted in them. Hint: the answer has something to do with his ancestry.

Floyd Mayweather’s nod to his roots

Mayweather sat down with “watch connoisseur” Lionel Khoury to ponder over the exquisite timepieces that he had bought from Khoury over the years. In a video posted on Instagram, as Mayweather was on a hunt for a new watch to add to his eclectic watch collection, he revealed that he had a particular liking for diamond-studded timepieces. “A lot of my watches, because of my background, has to have diamonds,” he revealed. But why?

Being an African American, Mayweather likes keeping timepieces that remind him of his roots. “Because, Africa, we come from Gold and diamonds and precious stones and precious metals. Most of the watches that I wear is diamonds,” Floyd explained.

Meanwhile, Mayweather, the owner of an $18 million Jacob & Co. watch, dubbed the ‘Billionaire watch’, casually picked out a black Rolex submariner as his latest purchase. The exquisite timekeeper with black dials and black bezel costs a fortune. But, that has never been a worry for ‘Money’ Mayweather. “I’mma go black sub,” Mayweather stated. Notably, he chose the same watch that Khoury was wearing. “You can’t go wrong with a black sub,” Clocked N’ Loaded Founder and CEO remarked proudly.

Meanwhile, Floyd Mayweather also bought the best security money could afford as he moved around Mexico ahead of his upcoming fight.

Bulletproof vehicle for the VIP guest!

DAZN posted videos of him cruising around the streets of Mexico in a jet-black bulletproof vehicle. Concerned about his safety outside of the ring, Mayweather was seen stepping into the vehicle as he was guarded by his security team. In the next shot, ‘TBE’ could be seen disembarking from his vehicle as he made his way to his favorite restaurant, Chambao.

There was a lot of buzz around the place as a crowd gathered near the restaurant to catch a glimpse of him. It seems Floyd likes to visit Chambao often as in 2021 he was spotted relishing a super colossal Maine lobster with his friends while being treated to some live music and acrobat dancing.
