Former heavyweight champion, Andy Ruiz Jr., is eyeing a return to the ring for his first fight under Eddy Reynoso’s guidance. Despite having no official opponent, several names can welcome ‘The Destroyer’ back to the squared circle.
However, Eddy Reynoso has already sighted a contender for his prodigy and it is none other than unified heavyweight champion, Anthony Joshua. Considering Ruiz Jr’s sensational win over ‘AJ’ in 2019, Reynoso billed it as the perfect return.
Although Joshua had avenged the loss in the rematch, Reynoso seems optimistic about ‘Destroyer’ winning the trilogy showdown, if it ever happens. He connected with Behind The Gloves to address the entire scenario.

“I would love to see him (Andy Ruiz Jr.) fight Joshua again, with the training, I think he could beat him (AJ). He has already beat him (AJ). It just takes a little bit of discipline and a good training camp,” said Reynoso.

What’s next for Andy Ruiz Jr.?
Instead of Joshua, ‘The Destroyer’ can also return against his former stable-mate, Chris Arreola. Despite his trainer’s will to set up a fight against Joshua, it might not happen in 2021.
Anthony Joshua will possibly face WBC titleholder, Tyson Fury, in a title unification fight ahead. So, it bizarre to see Ruiz Jr return against ‘AJ’ unless he holds off his return to 2022.

Nevertheless, Andy Ruiz Jr. and Joshua have won 1 fight against each other, which sets the perfect stage for a trilogy clash. If ‘AJ’ vanquishes Fury and Ruiz Jr. bags a win on his return, they can collide again to settle the scores for once and all.
Amid so many options, Ruiz Jr. can have a bright future ahead in the heavyweight division. But, he will have to make the right decisions at the right time.
