Devin Haney and Teofimo Lopez are two of the biggest attractions in the exciting lightweight division. Moreover, the pair have a rivalry between them and appear to be on a collision course to face each other. And now, Eddie Hearn has given an update on the potential bout.
Haney will return to the ring this weekend to box against former world champion Jorge Linares. The pair will fight as the main event of a stacked card. However, Eddie Hearn is already planning for life after the Linares fight for his young champion.
The promoter spoke to Boxing Social on YouTube and said, “I think Teofimo Lopez is more than up for the fight against Devin Haney. I think he believes he can beat him. And if Devin Haney wins on Saturday, Teofimo Lopez will receive a huge offer to fight Devin Haney. It is an absolute super-fight.”

‘The Dream’ and Lopez have had several verbal battles over the last few months. Rumors even suggested they would fight each other, as Lopez claimed he sent Haney a contract. However, nothing materialized, and the IBF ordered Lopez to honor his mandatory challenger.
Despite the collapse, Hearn is one of the best promoters in the game. He often delivers on his word and makes the fights happen. Furthermore, Lopez has also said he wants Haney after his June 19 bout. Therefore, his comments will excite fans as it is now a serious consideration for both parties.
