Almost half a year has passed, and Tyson Fury‘s endeavor for an opponent seems without respite. After the collapse of the Usyk fight, a fight with former champion Andy Ruiz Jr. seemed probable. However, as that fight also hit the skids, fresh talks for long-time British rival Anthony Joshua raised the hopes of fans and followers. But now, as updates filter in, the likelihood of an all-British fight appears bleak. Reportedly, ‘The Gypsy King’ is fuming. However, Eddie Hearn sticks by his friend and promotee.

After two back-to-back defeats at the hands of Oleksandr Usyk, the future appeared unsettling for the thirty-three-year-old Anthony Joshua. With many expressing concerns over him passing his prime, a return to the ring with a bang sounded logical. So return he did, but not with a charge but with a whimper as the American Jermaine Franklin took him the distance. The win perhaps reinstates his mojo as he prepares for the next big fight. So the question remains: Who will Anthony Joshua fight next?

Alas, it’s not going to be against Tyson Fury. Instead, if the sources could be believed, fans can hope for a mega fight between Joshua and former champion Deontay Wilder sometime in December this year. But before that happens, Matchroom Sports honcho Eddie Hearn who takes care of ‘AJ’ would want him to take care of archrival Dillian Whtye. The two have fought in the past, and to further the rematch, London’s O2 arena has been booked for August 12.

When asked about the fight, Hearn informed Boxing Social, “We have the O2 [Arena] held for that date, yes.” However, it seems the deal remains far from being finalized.

Hearns added, “We want to make AJ vs. Dillian Whyte, that is the fight that we want to make for August 12. [But], we still have to close that deal, and we are not there yet, at all. So, we have other opponents in mind, but we would like to fight Dillian Whyte.

Tyson Fury needs a bit of a self-introspection, according to the Matchroom boss

So where does that leave Fury? Apparently, ‘The Gypsy King’ had a few thoughts to spare on his boxing rivals. Charlie Parsons, the reporter with Boxing Social, read out an expletive-laden message from Fury to Hearn, “Fury’s come out and called AJ a proper p***y boy…proper p***y boy Usyk is a p***y, AJ is a p***y, ha ha ha...” Visibly exasperated, Hearn replied that the Heavyweight champion barely heeds anyone’s advice.

Secondly, his credibility is abysmally low. He continued, “…people right now like AJ and like Usyk are probably looking at Tyson Fury again…because you pissed off Alexander Usyk to a point where he thinks you’re a time waster, so he’s going to crack on fine Dubois. AJ doesn’t really believe a word you’re saying. He’s got plans for two fights…

Finally, Hearn asked about the options left with Tyson Fury. How’s he going to find a boxer who would be willing to fight at a purse that he usually calls for?

According to Hearns, Fury would then have to wait till December for his next fight. He is uncomfortable in a match with Usyk since he knows how skillful the southpaw is. However, with the right price to back, Fury might opt for a bout with the Ukrainian. But Hearns is unsure whether ‘The Gyspy King’ would get into that match after a year’s absence. That remains to be seen, he contended.
